Iguanas

In response to requests from our citizens, the city of Boca Raton has compiled the following information about iguanas:

  • Do not feed iguanas.
  • Avoid planting Impatiens or Mango trees.
  • A garlic spray (available at garden centers) may discourage iguanas.
  • Please do not call the Police, Humane Society, or other government agencies – they are not equipped to deal with iguanas.
  • Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control (561) 276-1344 will offer assistance to dispose of captured iguanas.
Should you want iguanas trapped and removed from your property, please consult your telephone directory under "Pest Control Services" for available trappers.
